What Frame Do I Have?

If you have a pair of sunglasses or eyeglasses and you're not sure what model or frame it is, don't worry! There are a few ways to identify what eyewear model frame you have. This is the first step in ensuring your TYTE replacement lenses will fit your frame perfectly.

1. Look for the Frame Name

The first thing you can do is look for the frame name on your eyewear. Most eyewear brands will have the frame name and frame model number on the inside of the temple arms (the parts that go over your ears) or the bridge (the part that sits on your nose). Some frames only have a frame name, some frames only have a frame model number, and like the example below some have both! For the example below:

Oakley Frame Name: Sliver

Oakley Frame Model Number: OO9102

2. Check the Model Number
Many eyewear brands will also have a model number on the inside of the temple arms (the parts that go over your ears) or the bridge of the frame (the part that sits on your nose). This number can be used to identify the exact model of your eyewear. In the example below:

Ray-Ban Frame Model Number: RB 2132

Ray-Ban Frame Lens Width (Eye Size): 58mm

3. Look for the Lens Width Measurement
Like the example above, some frame models have multiple sizes. The frame size is usually determined by the lens width, also known as the eye size or lens size. The lens width is a 2-digit number (commonly between 40mm and 70mm) found before the square ▢ symbol indicating the millimeter width of the lens. On some frames the lens width is found as the first number with dashes in between each number. As seen above, 58-18-145 is the frame measurement where the lens width measures 58mm, the nose bridge width measures 18mm, and the temple arm length measures 145mm. You can also find the lens width by measuring the widest horizontal measurement in millimeters across the front of the lens.
